Join us for the first Peer Leadership Institute Webinar for Supervisors:

Creating a welcoming environment for Peer Staff: Information and Resources for Supervisors and Administrators

on Wednesday, December 2 from Noon to 1:30 pm

Supervisors and administrators are invited to join us for this webinar as we discuss job descriptions, interview questions, ADA accommodations, training and tools, and so much more for peer staff. Peer Support Workers are a promising new addition to the evolving integrated care workforce and studies suggest that adding peer support staff can improve patient outcomes and help reduce overall costs. As with any new type of position or staff, supervisors and administrators may have questions about how best to hire, train, supervise, utilize, and bill for this new role.

Introduction to the Peer Leadership Institute (Webinar #1)

3:30 - 5 pm

The Peer Leadership Institute (PLI) is a one-year workforce development project that will serve peer providers in a four-county contiguous region of the Northern San Francisco Bay Area. Through a contract funded by the Office Statewide Health Planning & Development (OSHPD), the PLI will engage individuals with lived experience as consumers, family members, parents and caregivers who are currently employed or are volunteers in the public mental health system in Contra Costa, Solano, Sonoma and Napa Counties.

The PLI is developed around several project components, and includes workforce competencies to address California’s ever-changing county Mental/Behavioral health systems. This includes the role of peer providers in integrated health, including primary care and substance use disorders treatment. This webinar is the first of the PLI series of webinars and in-person trainings for 2015-16.
